General Data Protection Regulation
Privacy has become a major issue; that’s why the EU is introducing a game changing regulation covering personal private information. Any enterprise or business providing services to Europeans and collecting personal private information must comply with GDPR which will come into effect on May 25, 2018. Independent of where it is located in the world, if an organisation provides services to an EU citizen, it must comply with the GDPR requirements. Failure to do so can result in fines of up to 20 million Euros or 4% of global turnover, whichever is higher. The basic requirements are simple.
Consent – Any personal data collected should be explicitly approved by the customer. General consent is not allowed anymore and an explanation why and how the personal data will be used is mandatory.
Secure – Personal data should be kept in secured storage, available for authorised persons only.
Access – Customers should have access to see, amend and correct their personal data
Forget – Unless the personal data should be kept to comply with other regulations (such as financial regulations), customers have the right to be forgotten, and the organisation is obligated to delete all their personal data.
For organisations, complying with GDPR can be a complicated. It requires mapping and understanding which personal data is already in use, where it is kept and what was consented to.
The Shield FC GDPR platform is designed to map, manage and delete all recorded communications and untrusted data when needed. With the platform, organisations are able to be GDPR compliant by:
Mapping the data – Shield FC connects to your existing unstructured data files, including voice recording files, emails, chats, SMS servers and all documentation. Secure– Shield FC will store your customers’ personal data files (existing and new) in a compliance archiving platform, as required by GDPR.
Access – Shield provides APIs which can be used to accessible personal information to your customers using your existing platforms.
Forget – Shield FC provides a deletion capability to delete personal data when needed.

For organisations, becoming GDPR compliant raises several questions. How can consent be managed, if it’s not known what data is stored in all the different systems? Shield FC’s GDPR suite is designed to scan existing content, map the data already stored, manage consent and when needed delete all records upon request.
