Pre Sales Engineer

Shield is growing and expanding fast and we’re looking for an important piece of the puzzle. 

The role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Sales Engineer with a passion to learn and progress quickly, to join our growing Sales team in the UK. As a Solutions Engineer, you will report directly to the VP of EMEA & APAC and you will be responsible for new business development across our target markets, focus on growing our customer base for Shield’s Communications Compliance suite of solutions.

We are looking for someone who is target-driven with strong communication skills and is happy to develop relationships from scratch and build up their own network in our industry. We expect you to be a team player and be a key brand ambassador for the company. 

  The opportunity  

  • Help create and deliver remote and in-person presentations and product demonstrations
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, custom documents, emails and IMs from customers, prospects, partners and marketers.
  • Manage prospects and customers through the product evaluation process via POCs and other solution validation exercises. 
  • Build relationships and establish technical credibility with key contacts and stakeholders within Shield customer and prospect accounts as well as with Shield partners.
  • Work with internal Product Management, Marketing and other Shield teams to communicate customer and prospect feedback and help craft the messaging and product responses back to the field
  • Interface with Professional Services and Customer Support as part of the sales process to cover customer requirements around those topics
  • Prepare, attend, and present at industry trade events and webinars

 

Experience and skills 

  • Five or more years’ experience in a related, hands-on technical field
  • Knowledge of and ability to explain messaging platforms and other communication technologies and the underlying networking technologies they rely upon
  • 2 or more years in a customer-facing role
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal and presentation abilities
  • Willingness and ability to manage the customer and their expectations
  • An energetic and positive, “get it done” attitude
  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver on expectations without being micromanaged
